The parish of Quintanamanvirgo is under the patronage of Saints Facundo and Primitivo, two saints of exclusive devotion to the order of the Benedictine monks. This Order appears settled in the area from the year 937, at which time the repoblador Diego Ródaniz donates to the monks of the monastery of Arlanza the Monastery of San Andrés de Boada to pray for him and his wife. The dynamics of the monastery would be present in Quintanamanvirgo not only religiously, but also materially by donations and purchases.

It is a church that has undergone several extensions and demolitions, which has remained spacious but without a defined building style, except for its slender belfry.
