Casanova is a neighborhood of the municipality of Peñaranda de Duero (there are only 3 kilometers separating these two riverside towns).

As a historical fact we highlight the revolt of the casanoveros in the presence of the Napoleonic troops (war of independence, nineteenth century), and the execution of Miguel Delgado, a war hero who was part of the local resistance that was hung from the tower of the tribute. After several days, the inhabitants of Casanova asked the Duke for mercy in order to bury him and they were able to do so in the ex-ecglesia of Santa Ana (Peñaranda de Duero). As a consequence of this fact, the name "la calleja de la piedad" was given to a street near the Plaza Mayor Peñarandina.

Casanova has the church dedicated to the Virgen del Pino and the hermitage of San Roque, dating from 1713 (making it one of the oldest hermitages in the area).
As an environmental heritage, Casanova is known as a refuge for life because of its birds and steppe habitats such as the clawed ones, which blend in with the land thanks to their colors.

The festivities of Casanova are in honor of the Assumption of Our Lady (August 15) and in honor of San Roque (August 16).
