Location

The wines of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin enter or leave this municipality, it depends as you look, on the west side of it following the National Road 122 (A 11), by the hand of Velilla de San Esteban, so the name of its wines Camino Soria shows of this passing status that the population has always had.

In this small town, we can still see one of the very few wooden pillores that are preserved and that is a symbol of that independence and judicial administration - territorial and human - that he enjoyed many years ago with the title of Villa.

Here, you can not miss its magnificent right bank of the Douro, one of the best preserved in the province, to admire its varied riverside vegetation, its fertile vega watered by the Canal Vizcount de Eza, today untapped in dry crops and , a little further, the curious geological formations in the form of stone outcrops.

Although wineries are still preserved, the vineyard plantation is in San Esteban de Gormaz.

Gentiliticio de San Esteban: velillenses.
